Berenger and Emilie Grecula, the two
children who had been abducted and flown to Malta by their father have settled back in the
United States with their mother, Monique. Aron Mifsud
Bonnici, the lawyer who represented Monique Grecula during her fight in the Maltese Courts
to win back the custody of her children, on Tuesday told MaltaMedia News that the Greculas
departed Malta soon after Justice Raymond Pace awarded custody to the mother.
Mifsud Bonnici said that Ronald Grecula, the father of the children has not filed an
appeal yet. "I am not aware that Mr Grecula filed an appeal as yet. However, he did
obtain an extension of the 6-day time limited originally given to him to appeal. He now
has 20 days to do so," said the lawyer. He added that he has been instructed by
Monique Grecula to continue in her representation in the appeal stage. He is confident
that any appeal would be rejected.
Mr. Justice Raymond Pace in his sentence had ruled that Monique Grecula can take her two
children back to the United States "in the supreme interest of the minors".
