The man, Ronald
Grecula, has a number of cases pending in the United States. US courts have issued arrest
warrants against him. Mr Grecula is also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI).
It was Mr Grecula’s former wife, Monique, who traced him down in Malta. When the two
separated, the Monroe County court ruled that the physical custody of their two children
is given to the mother.
When one day the three year old girl and the eleven year old boy where at their
father’s, he allegedly kidnapped them and fled from the United States.
Eventually, Monique Grecula found out that her ex-husband and children were in Malta. She
asked for the help of the US Embassy in Malta. The immigration police intervened the case
and found out that Mr Grecula is in Malta illegally since his visa had expired.
Mrs Grecula has now filed an inhibition mandate in the Maltese court to stop her husband
from leaving the country.
The mother is requesting her two children back in order to return to America.
